Loafing in class whilst listening to Licht Und Schatten.

At least I have a car to drive home in today. Might stop by Barnes & Noble to see if they have any books I want. Probably stop by the bank first though. Since it's right there on the way.

Being angsty and feeling like a rebellious teenager today. Very frustrating feeling.

So I bought some books...

Shadow Puppets
Shadow of the Giant

Both by Orson Scott Card, of course.

And...

Dune Messiah

Can't wait to read these. I'm on Shadow of the Hegemon atm. Then I'll read the next two. Then Dune Messiah or other books that I haven't read yet.

Aye Happy Birthday Yard Hippie

I had a decent day today, I had to tell one guy that he was being transferred from his shitty branch with split days off to a great branch with his weekend being consecutive days. Easy peasy!

Tomorrow though I have to tell another guy that he is being transferred from a great branch he loves to a shitty branch that everyone hates in the middle of nowhere. Even better though I have to tell another guy that he will also transfer there, have his weekends changed to split days off and also indicate to him that if he doesn't improve the directors want to fire him! Yay! Not looking forward to tomorrow!

Now beer & ambient :ugeek:

I also ordered an Amazon Kindle. It's an electronic book reader thing but without an LCD screen it has something I think is called liquid paper or something but whatever it is, it is really easy on the eyes. I will from now on be downloading books and trying to get myself to read more. Public domain books you can download for free (and it's not piracy) so I'll be able to enjoy the classics :geek:

Thanks for the birthday greetings guys ;)

I'm the inverse of you Joseph, today life was crap; I'm paid for doing many things at work but being counsellor to an obviously depressed supervisor is not one of them HOWEVER tomorrow is Friday and Friday is always a good day because it starts with a full english breakfast and never gets busy

I heard the Kindle recently remotely deleted all copies of Orwells 1984 without warning... You'll have to let us know how it goes. Sounds very Jap techy to me

What's this Kindle business? I wouldn't mind being able to read books that way but I don't know. Majority of the time I'm reading words on a computer screen during the week, I think I should give my eyes a break and read an actual book (which I do).

For some reason, Joe, I can't see you in a suit and tie. Or at least a dress shirt and a tie. Maybe it's because I know you from music and not from real life job or something.

Ambient, good. Beer, not as good. I'd take some other alcoholic drink over a beer. Still haven't developed a taste for beer yet. Maybe it's because I don't drink it all that much in the first place. Though, I'd rather not get used to beer because I don't see much of a point to it at the moment since none of them taste all that good to me.

Kinda sucks to tell those guys they're being transferred. But what can you do? I mean, you're just the messenger (in this case) right? It's not like you can do anything about it.

As for me, Friday's are usually great because it's the start of the weekend and I have classes that I like on Fridays and they get done pretty early so I can spend the rest of the day doing whatthefuckever.

well yesterday was made awesome by a couple of chavs at the local chinese in the end. I have this hippe coat thing made of sackcloth with various eastern motifs all over it, one of them being the aum symbol, and I'm standing there waiting for my food and this chav's staring at me from a few meters away. Then he starts getting really excitable and begins to jab his finger at my coat to his mate
'look at that, it's that buddhist shit... um PURPLE AUMS! you remember purple ohms right? Fckin good acid, BEST acid you could ever get. Fckin Purple AUMS' etc etc
to which the other scally started getting really embarrassed (his friend was being very very loud about this) and started saying that he'd never heard of them and dragged this guy out still screaming on
'It was the baddest, DARKEST most fckin twisted acid around'
It made me lol

Never liked beer myself until I got to know a few regular pubgoers at uni but now it's quite pleasent. Still not a fan of lager but bitters and ales are ftw. Especially on a hot summers day.

I love chav stories :) I don't want to live one though :geek:

This is the kindle it is nice to read and looks like it wouldn't hurt the eyes any more than a book would. You can't read in the dark though :P It was supposed to arrive today but didn't :( Just the start of my shitty day. I was in the shower when my front door rang & I thought that might be it so I rushed out dried myself really quickly and threw some clothes on. It was just the new neighbours come to introduce themselves. A nice old couple they seemed, gave me a present. I wish they were living directly above me instead Stampy McShout-a-lot

Nobody ever imagines me as a suit. At my last club night I was chatting to this guy who works for the same company as me. He looked a bit shocked when I rocked up at his office for a meeting with his manager ;)

What's the point of drinking something you don't like? Some people seem to think beer is manly & other drinks are for puffs but I would only ever drink or eat something I liked. People who drink beer to fit in are just sad. Alcopops for the win!!

Yeah, anyone we sent would have been pissed off, it's a shitty branch. At least I managed to negotiate that he doesn't have his weekend changed but he seemed so depressed today. So depressed. I have to tell the other guy tomorrow. Oh and he will have his days off changed! Great! I also made a crap load of paperwork mistakes today (or at least caught them from previous days)! Bugger

A guy at another branch is refusing (angrily) to work 4 days next month in said far away branch because it will take him 2 hours to get there. This is the place I had to go to every day in August  I have to deal with him tomorrow or sunday :? He's basically a guy who has been with the company a long time and would have ammassed a really high salary that would have been cut severely (maybe around $1000) a month this year. As you can imagine he is a bit pissed off.

$260 USD for that thing? Forget that then.

But then again. I must've spent over 100 on books this year alone. Hmm. How much does it coast to download books? You said you could get some books for free but what about new releases and stuff like that?
